35 years of suicides in USA-prism map [OC]

I'd rather not make this entirely into a political thing, although I do believe the things being portrayed as "negative" about Nevada must ultimately be defended by reference to social, political, and cultural preference. Who preys on who? The dealers who know they deal losing games, sometimes to people who should not be gambling? You are your own responsibility out here. The dealers are making a living by providing a service that people voluntarily purchase. I drop a few hundred dollars on blackjack every year, and I do so with a smile. The dealers are, almost uniformly, nice people.

Who else prey on each other? Are we upset about the immigrants on the strip handing out cards for strippers and escorts? Are we upset about the club promoters? Everybody is just doing a job. It has never once bothered me to have someone offer me promotional material I don't want. You just walk on by and that is that. Maybe it is the street performers asking for tips? I do not see why that bothers anyone.

Is it the prostitutes? Well, I don't think so! If you know anything about prostitution in Nevada - especially illegal prostitution - many of the customers are the same police officers and family men who otherwise condemn them. The same people who deride the city as sinful!

There is no freedom from society here, you are right. But there are still sentiments of the old west --- however lost most of them may now be. America has a great history of escapism westward. I view that as a positive rather than a negative.

But as I said at the outset, that is my social cultural political preference. My only suggestion is that one man's negative is another man's positive, and that contrary to several posts from people who have "visited" Vegas report about its citizens; we generally love it here.
