I need help, I can't even pretend to be happy anymore

Ok, so I stumbled across this post while looking for something else entirely, but as someone who constantly battles depression/helplessness, here is what I would suggest & why:

1) finish the welding program, by any means necessary. I've read that welders are a high-paying job that has a lot of demand. This is key. Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy those things to help make you happy. Plus not having $ causes a ton of problems/stress.

2) get several plants & make sure you water them the right amount- not too little, not too much. Having actual green in your surroundings is uplifting, + they filter the air.

3) knock off the hard drugs immediately, & try to wean yourself off weed. You'll save $ + possible jail time. Also, a future employer could drug test, & you don't want to fail/get fired.

4) go out to eat 1-3 times a week & treat yourself. Find some foods you like (pizza is mine) & discover the very best of this food in your area. Become a connoisseur of this food; tasty stuff improves your mood & can be a way to meet people.

5) After you've taken care of the plants for a few weeks & stopped at least the hard drugs, adopt 2 cats from your local shelter. Preferably 2 cats that have lived together & that are friends. Cats don't need a lot of upkeep but can be incredibly rewarding. I feel better petting mine, + knowing they depend on me keeps me going.

6) Go out to see a movie, a play, & an art exhibit 1-2 times a week. As in, make yourself leave the house. A way to keep busy, do something fun, & maybe meet people.

7) get some free weights & start exercising at home with simple lifts/curls. Exercise helps both your body as well as your mind.

8) try to do some simple yoga poses. Improves flexibility as well as balance, also your stress level. I swear by it.

9) eventually adopt a dog. Having the cats first will ensure the hierarchy where the cats having been first are the 'alphas.' The dog will make you have to get outside as well as maybe meet people at dog parks. plus dogs give unconditional love.

10) once you have your welding license/certificate/degree, look for jobs in interesting cities. Move there & start over; reboot your life with your animals.

LMK if you have any questions about these suggestions.
