9 killed in Ohio in second US mass shooting in 24 hours

For a country that prides itself on democracy, why isn't the removal of the second amendment put to a people's vote? If it passes issue a buy back scheme for guns and ammunition. Set a deadline for either the destruction or return of guns and after that point if you are caught with a firearm you are arrested and charged with possession of an illegal firearm.

The amendment was written at a time where guns consisted of black powder and single shot muskets. The fact that it wasn't addressed or revisited after Sandy Hook alone is borderline reckless endangerment of the American people by the government.

I don't care about the mental gymnastics that I've seen on here (and every other discussion after mass shootings). You don't need a fucking a semi automatic weapon to defend your home. Yes this could have happened with a knife but if you believe that it's as easy to kill 30 people with a kitchen knife as it would be with semi automatic weapon you are simply lying.
