ACLU calls for DHS to be disbanded

The argument I’m essentially boiling down to is the system of checks and balances. The federal government was intentionally designed to not be able to accomplish very much permanent change in the short term. This prevents any one snapshot in time of government to radically alter the country, it’s values, etc.

It should be no surprise that pretty much any offshoot of the federal government, such as law enforcement, falls into the same perpetually slow cycle via issues in things it needs from the Federal government at large such as funding, approval of actions and operations etc etc.

The federal government is historically slow and bad at pretty much everything. In my opinion it can mostly be attributed to intentional design, and partly due to the factors you would assume such as incompetence and unwillingness to get things done.
