AI cure for bed blocking can predict hospital stay | News | The Times

I could have a crystal ball that could perfectly optimise the NHS and we'd still be up shit creek because you can't polish a turd and a turd is what the Tories have left us after 12 years of chronic mismanagement.

We don't need to engineer our way out of this solution with clever AI we need to build our way out of it in the form of raw capacity and that first and foremost means sacking this government. People might worry about Labour and frankly they'd be right to given what a mess that party has been until fairly recently but you never stay the axe in fear that the next guy might be worse, you keep chopping.

At any rate while the bar for 'competent' might be high we can at least do better than 'actively wants to sell our healthcare system to foreign companies'. We've run the whole country for too long under the kind of logic that it's cheaper to sell both your kidneys to an American hedge fund and rent a dialysis machine off them for the rest of your life and this needs to change before we'll see progress I think.
