ESH. As much as I am in agreement where I can’t STAND people who use their religion as an excuse to treat people poorly or to shun their loved ones, I think the way it was handled may not have been the best. And I get it because my mom is a raging hypocritical catholic who will do this too. I know it can be super frustrating especially when it’s your parent because you just want them to snap out of it and not treat their family members as “disgraces” whether they disagree with how they live their life or not. The best way to work with people like this is to educate. Yelling and insults will never make its way across to your mom unfortunately. Good luck and I’m sorry to hear that this is happening!
