Don’t all political parties do this? Democrats and Republicans? I’m pretty sure we have done this before too when someone tried to spoil a democratic incumbent.

It’s obvious that a primary challenger is not going to win. 0% chance, so all it does is split the vote. The DNC and the RNC know this and that’s why they are doing this now and have done so in the past to protect the incumbent.

Let’s not pretend that any of us would have welcomed a challenger to Obama in 2012 from the democrats. Why would we? That just helps Mitt Romney, because it peels off votes for Obama and gives them to someone who is not going to win.

Am I missing something here? I want nothing more than Trump to crash and burn next year but why is everyone mad that the RNC is protecting their candidate. I would expect the same from the DNC as well.
