I’m 28 and my boyfriend is 55. We’ve been together two years. While my boyfriend’s friends aren’t as well traveled as yours, many are very very successful, much more so than me. (I work a full time, low paying job and still attend college full time.)

I was so afraid to meet his friends at first and I have been ill received by one of his friend’s wives (it’s disgusting, she said). The rest have been very nice.

My advice may not be helpful, but I suggest you just relax and be yourself. Do not make a big deal out of your age difference with your boyfriend. I’ve decided if I don’t make a big deal of it, then no one else should.

It’s also perfectly reasonable that you aren’t majorly successful at your age. Your boyfriend knows all about you and your accomplishments (so far!) and chooses to be with you — that’s all that really matters. Don’t allow yourself to feel inferior! You have just as much to offer the world as anyone else.
