See, I am I am in the same situation. My mom just did ancestry.com, and I donated in the early 90s when I was in college. I am now concerned that someone could find out she was their grandmother via ancestry, and give her quite the shock. She does not know I was a donor. I never told anyone in my family.

I may sign up myself, just to make myself discoverable, I understand that any of my biological kids may want to know medical history, but I am a bit nervous at the same time. I was young and hadn’t thought through the potential implications, I don’t have children, I’m gay and married, and we have no desire to have kids of our own. I have no idea if i have any biological children, but I did donate for some time for them, I bet that clinic is long closed, nor would any of my contact information still be the same from back then for them to reach me.
