"America may have some problems, but it's our home, our team, and if you don't want to root for your team then you should get the hell out of the stadium."

It was a freakin quote from South Park... And it's absolutely not about being asked to leave. It's saying if you are not gonna help, if you are just gonna sit and bitch about how fucked up things have gotten here, but do nothing to help, then please leave. Incessant complaining and doing nothing to compromise and making things better is what is pissing OP off. I can't blame him. It's ridiculous that we have many of this issues we do. How can we fix it, when every attempt that is made is met by a million keyboard detractors who's wikipedia expertise tell's us we can't do this or that. I mean, seriously, we often say that it can be more difficult to get things done in 'Murica. Often we then hear the rest of the world saying quit bitching it's hard everywhere. This is a true fact. The most true fact though is that we can't move on anything.

If a single option, a single piece of legislation, makes any group, no matter how big or how small, a little more inconvenienced, there are fucking battle cries in the streets. Take Ferguson for example. Our police forces (some but not all) need some serious working over. However, the people hit the streets before all the facts were in. What started as a justified protest turned into riots and a gross overstep by every party involved; police and civilian alike. We all had an opinion. You saw politicians from New York, media outlets from Texas, and activists from California all stepping in and trying to explain why they know best. To put that in perspective, that's like having someone in England trying to tell someone in Poland how do handle their business. I am so pissed that we can't get along and how, now, everything must apply to everyone regardless of their situation. I mean, what do you want us to do? How do you write a law about commerce then expect a cattle rancher in Oklahoma to agree about every single freaking detail with a Steel Mill owner in Pittsburgh? You can't. Now try to get those same two people to agree on a policy about healthcare. Or gun control. Or gay marriage. Or Taxes. Or government subsidy.

We have become a nation of individuals. If it doesn't work for me then no one gets the benefit. Even if it has absolutely no bearing on me, no one else can get it because, shit, I'm not getting anything why should I help.

That's the point of that post. Either suck it up for the shitty times so that we can help build a better tomorrow, or leave. It's not about "pro-America" vs "anti-America". It's "Get Shit Done" vs "Sit and Bitch About It". Honestly, I was 100% against universal, gov't sponsored healthcare. But I voted to see it happen. Why? Because I know the current system is fucked and we've never tried that. I've seen it work in Europe and Canada, so hey, the worst thing that happens is it is a failure and we go back to the way things were. It got passed and you know what happened? Next to nothing. Why? Because people, many of whom weren't really that affected by it in the first place, thought that it may be a bad idea. Now we have a system that runs about efficiently as a soviet era jeep, not because it was flawed, but because we couldn't our heads out of our asses long enough to even give it a chance to work.

That's what that post was about. The only way for us to rebuild is to work together and stop thinking about "me" and start thinking about "you". So yeah... America may have some problems, but it's our home, my home, and if you don't want to make it a place worth living in, then you should go find a hole to live in where the only person you can cause misery to is yourself. And I would sure as hell think that people like you would be on board for trying to strengthen the world as a whole as opposed to sitting back and watching us burn. Maybe if we focused on righting our wrongs then maybe y'all wouldn't hate us so much and we could do some serious work as a species. Don't flame OP for being one of the few who actually give a shit.
