How is it unfounded? Some pedophiles have sex with kids. That literally hurts kids. Some pedophiles make or watch kid porn. That damages kids mentally and emotionally. Those that watch it are ensuring the spread of it. Plus, the kids don't give permission to have pictures of their nude bodies sent to people for them to get their rocks off on. Forgive me for being uncharitable towards people that selfishly hurt others. Forgive me for being bigoted (intolerant of an opinion) towards people that think it's fine to cause harm. The only pedophiles I don't mind are the ones that don't hurt people and just live their lives. But you're changing the subject -pedophiles weren't the overarching topic. Your false comparison between gay/bi people and pedophiles was. You haven't touched on the topic of consent.

You do have the (human) right to think whatever you want though, erroneous or not. Unless people build a mind control helmet, that won't change. I said people have the right to their own beliefs and to harmlessly be themselves. If something that someone thinks is factually incorrect then that may cause a problem, but I'm not gonna act like being factually incorrect (like those examples you provided) is the most horrible thing. It only requires a quick correction. Also, beliefs and facts are a bit different . Your examples were factually incorrect. You may believe them to be true if you want, but they're very easily proven false. When I mentioned beliefs, I was referring opinions- things that can't be proven true or false. Some people believe God created us all. Others don't. Both of those are opinions because we have no way of absolutely proving either case true. Some people think blue is the best color ever seen. Others don't. Neither opinion is false or correct because it's based on a personal preference.

If someone is scandalized by something then they already don't think the matter at hand is moral or okay, so there's no worry about changing their minds (scandalize: shock or horrify (someone) by a real or imagined violation of propriety or morality). That is a defined difference. The person with a username (like masturbator1, or gamer22) merely chose a title for themselves. It has nothing to do with anyone else, and everything to do with the person going by it. One person doesn't have to censor themselves(in this case) on the [very] off chance that it reminds someone else of an issue they're dealing with. It's not like they're doing it in front of them or offering it up- tempting them. (Also, whether or not masturbation is evil is a belief, an opinion.) You also seem to be conflating all "temptations" and "issues" with addictions, when it could be as simple as someone on a diet driving around and seeing a doughnut shop. That's what your masturbation addict example amounts to.

If a person is attracted to (solely) people of the same sex, they're gay or lesbian. If someone masturbates, or kills, then they are a masturbator, or killer. If a person builds things from they're imagination, they're an inventor. If a person lies, they are a liar. If a person gives things to others, they are a giver- they're charitable. Now, almost all of these examples are based on behavior so they're subject to change with time. You seem to make the mistake of thinking that just because a person may commit any "sin" or give into any temptation, then that is all they are. No one is "just" anything. A gay person may also be a businessperson or neighbor. A masturbator may be a fisher and/or reader. A killer may also be a son, or a father. God made us the way we are. Nature is what determines nature, and- contrary to your argument- being attracted to, or being with someone of the same sex is natural. Not only has it been a part of human behavior pretty much since humans existed, but since people started paying more attention in the past (almost) 20 years, homosexual behavior has been found in hundreds of species. That's factual whether people like it or reject it. Again- people have the right to think what they want, but fact is fact. I meant that the belief that anything is wrong with non-straight people is an archaic one, and has been found factually false. It is not a disorder. Researchers, doctors, scientists, engineers, etc. are proving and disproving previous beliefs all the time. We need to keep up with the findings.
