The answer to “why is housing in L.A. so expensive?”

I am not excusing the government or builders here. But let's be real: Cities can fill up.

There's no right or obligation to keep making a city more and more dense. To always keep building. Not every city needs to turn into NYC.

There is a lot of land in America. Plenty of areas surrounding LA have space and can turn into bigger cities and offer more. These cities, to the South East and North of LA can do more to attract business and new residents. Not everything needs to happen in LA.

I am starting to accept not living in LA but I would like to be in Southern California and I would like to see cities and counties not do more to make themselves nicer places to live and offer more.
