Anyone have experience or anecdotal information about ECT for BPD?

ECT treatment isn't used specifically for BPD. DBT therapy is best for BPD. ECT treatment is used for depression though and I believe that is has like a 80%-90% success rate in seeing at least some improvement in depression/suicidal ideation (I believe the highest % for any kind of treatment for depression). I have some experience with ECT. I went through 23 rounds of ECT treatment(6 unilateral and 17 bilateral) for my Double Depression (Major Depressive Disorder with Chronic Depression). I happen to have BPD also. For me ECT treatment wasn't life changing. It helped with my depression and suicidal ideation some in the short term(months), but in the long run I'm not sure it did much. The bilateral ECT treatment did affect my memory/thinking, but as more time passes the more my memory/thinking went back to normal. I don't believe ECT had any long term effects on my memory/thinking. The reason I tried ECT was because I knew if were to leave the psychiatric hospital that it would be months maybe a year until my next suicide attempt and I thought to myself well if I'm going to attempt suicide again I might as well try everything that I can before I do. So not only did I do ECT treatment, I completed a 6 month residential program, tried a clinical trial of esketamine, and joined a DBT outpatient group.
