Are there any classes that teach adults how to drive?

You should consider finding a driving school in Cleveland or maybe Morgantown, or at least a driving instructor who is from somewhere else, preferably far, far away. Learning to drive from a Pittsburgher would be like learning to cook from Ronald McDonald.

A few things you should know in case you end up learning from a native: 1- There are these things called "Stop Signs". Red. Octagonal. You've maybe seen them and wonder what they are for since you have to dodge vehicles at every crosswalk. These mean that your vehicle should cease all movement for a moment, coming to a complete rest before proceeding during your actual turn. 2 - There are these things call a "Speed Limit". This governs the maximum speed your vehicle should travel on a given roadway. Pennsylvania basically has two speed limits, 25mph and 70mph. Although 25mph is somewhat inappropriate for many of the roads it covers, that doesn't mean ALL streets and roads posted 25mph shouldn't be that way. If you are in a parking lot, near a school, anywhere you see more than a few pedestrians, on a narrow street with parking on both sides...these are all legit 25mph zones, no need to drive 70mph. 3 - You will be taught to slow down before entering tunnels, line up in the lane you'll need to use 6 miles down the road (not to mention ignore the zipper merge), and to be inexplicably and unpredictably "courteous" by not taking your turn at stop signs or stopping traffic to let others in or turn for no reason....do not do these things. Also, you can take a Pittburgh left, but don't give them, as this is just a specific version of #3 above.

But seriously, once you get your license, book a course at Beaver Run.
