I asked the guy taking my order for, “as much fire sauce as you can give me without losing your job.” Turns out that’s 243 packets. I love you Taco Bell, and promise not to ask for anymore sauce for a while.

It tastes like burning.

In all seriousness, the kick is mild compared to what other hot sauces are out there. Of their difference sauces, it has the best flavor, but the thing about spicy food in general is that you gradually develop a tolerance to it over time and inevitably end up dulling the pleasure of the "burning".

For context, Taco Bell fire sauce is rated at 500 Scoville heat units. These days, I usually get Topatio hot sauce because it's mad cheap and is rated at 3000 SHU. It's great for giving cheap food (i.e. rice, noodles) some more flavor. I remember when a small dab of it was plenty to feel like I had the breath of a dragon, whereas now I can drench a burrito in it and not even break a sweat. Watching Hot Ones has left me underwhelmed with the lack of burning in my life.

But I feel as though none of this fully addresses your question, and since you shouldn't have read this far only to walk away disappointed, here is Shaq eating a Carolina Reaper chip. While I can't find an accurate claim about the SHU of the chip itself, the Carolina Reaper pepper itself is rated at about 1.5 million SHU.

If you do ever manage to find a Taco Bell, I highly recommend trying the Crunchwrap Supreme.
