B-b-but there's no way hundreds of people could be involved in a coverup without word getting out

1) It did get out, hell there's jokes about Weinstein in TV shows;

2) There's a big difference between, "I hear Harvey's a creep" and "I know Harvey raped Ashley Judd on XYZ date";

3) There's a big difference between a cover-up of specific crimes and just knowing some guy you've met a few times is bad dude and deciding it's not your problem (the latter is shitty too);

4) Realistically, say you've heard third-hand that Weinstein had been harassing starlets, but you don't really know the specifics -- realistically, what are you going to do with that? I'm not trying to excuse people, but be realistic about human behavior. Say you're a salesman, and you heard the boss of owner of one of your competitors had a reputation for trying to take advantage of new employees -- what would you do with that? Run to the police? You don't really know anything specific. You might steer people away from working there, etc., but most human beings react with "that guy sucks but it's not my responsibility."
