Allyria

Background

Allyria was born from a couple of Eladrin. She looks just like her mother, but her golden eyes were her father's. Her father was a sun-elf from Gondolin yh I know, ripoff, but I liked it and her mother, a moon-elf, had never settled down until she met Allyria's father.

Gondolin is an Eladrin city on the boundary between the fey wild and the primal world. As such it is situated in the most remote regions of Winterbergen as well as having great forests despite the altitudes. Gondolin was inhabited by moon and sun elves alike. A common feature of their folk is their piety. The city is told to have been created by Angharradh herself to give a home to elves in even the most remote places of the primal world. This is how the fey wild came so close to a mountain range.

Allyria grew up in Gondolin in the gigantic house owned by her father. She enjoyed all the privileges of her position but never really cared for the divine. It didn't seem useful to worship a devine being which had been disconnected from her folk for so long.

Wandering in the outskirts of Gondolin since a very young age Allyria quickly discovered that not only the few world was beautiful but also the primal world. The primal world was inhabited by many more spirits of all kinds. Each and every other creature or rock seemed to be bursting with some kind of power.

When she came of age she was taught in the arts of combat and arcana by the elders. They attempted to teach her the ways of the divine but this had little to appeal to Allyria. She needed no gods when she knew the true power lying in the earth, the air and everything around her. She studied these primal powers aon her own whenever she could. Reading book after book, in Gondolin's main library, about the ancient Shamans who were able to communicate with spirits and acted as a bridge between worlds. Through studying and lone practising Allyria got stronger and stronger. She was soon able to summon spirits living in the environment and channel the powers of her surroundings through them and through herself. Always respectful of those spirits she would always request their help rather than demand it.

Furthering her research she discovered she could not only channel the energy through herself and through spirits but also channel it to other creatures. She learned how to use these powers in order to heal the wounded. She finally crafted a totem from stone and imbued it with so much powers the surface showed uncountable, tiny cracks. The first time she used the totem it appeared to have thunder-like properties. She then took a piece of wood lying around and carved and painted it with runes. It's purpose would be to channel the deeper lying energies into nearby creatures in order to be able to heal them more effectively.

One day she decided to permanently paint her arm with a number runic symbols. The symbols represented the four elements, Earth, Water, Fire and Air as well as healing and thunder. This has ever since strengthened her strength and her connection to the spirits.

Having meanwhile mastered the sword and the ways of her people as well as Shamanism as much she could she was very much enjoying life. Until she wandered into the darker, older parts of Gondolin's library. There she found books about the times before time speaking of wars amongst the old gods and chaos itself. Purely elemental worlds bursting with energy, creatures and environment blending together. One legend spoke of a collection of knowledge beyond imagination, kept within a Golden Cube. This edifice however had been lost to History. This started to tickle Allyria's moon- elf side, soon the wanderlust became irresistible. She needed to see what is out there. If she could already find all of these amazing things where she lived and in book then what more could she find. She thirsted for the knowledge of other people and other places. Of course her father didn't understand why she would ever want to travel amongst lower people but he was swayed by his loved one. She had convinced him that if the wanderer settles before their time then they haven't lived at all.

Before leaving she took a bag and clothes made from the finest materials offered by her people. She would not easily get cold or damage her footwear. She took with her a couple of books and her sword as well as her crafts and first set off to Winterland. On the day of her departure a travelling wood elf passed through Gondolin and told the tale of a mysterious oasis appearing out of nowhere in the desert. Next to it arose from the ground a massive edifice made of gold. Its uncanny cubic symmetry was most peculiar alongside the fact that nobody managed to find its entrance. this was to set off the campaign but I like it

This is the story of how Allyria set of to travel the world seeking new knowledge, new environments and help the strayed along the way. Her very first stop will be Winterland to seek company of strong warriors to conquer the secrets of the Golden Cube, if it truly does exist.
