Baltimore residents afraid to leave their homes now that there is less police presence.

  1. I have several degrees, a dog, a family, hobbies, and a job. I function fine, thanks.

  2. I said police officers are people TOO. I did not say the ones that did this deserve to be let off because "they're people". I said that not every police officer deserves to get harassed because SOME are bad. They are afraid because of the reactions in society to this mess. Justify it anyway you want to make yourself feel better, THATS what happened. That's why there were so many murders this weekend with nothing done.

  3. I can tell you that, in the hypothetical situation you just gave me, I sure as hell wouldn't riot because I'm an adult who realizes that hurting others won't get me too far. I would also realize that rioting would only be destroying the city that everyone is working hard to fix so it's not quite so awful for people living there. At some point, you have to stop finger pointing and take at least SOME of the responsibility. Destroying your city to make a point helps no one. Businesses don't want to go back there, cops don't want to help, people were murdered. Who did they help?

  4. Just because my answer isn't "I'D RIOT AND BURN SHIT", it doesn't make me awful. You don't know me AT ALL. Just because I don't agree with you, it doesn't make me wrong and it doesn't make me a bad person. It's sad that people like you who think that they are so open minded end up sounded more bigoted and less intelligent because you are simply unable to see things from any other perspective. What is it you want done? Seriously? What is it YOU are doing, other than putting people down on reddit? You just said I'm part of the problem, so you must be doing something amazing to help their cause. I see the problems in society. I'm not dense. I'm an educated young woman. I'm a socially liberal woman. I'm simply saying that they destroyed their own city and it helped NO ONE. I'm saying that not all cops should have to be afraid because SOME made bad choices. In no way have I said that those that are afraid of getting harmed by cops deserve to live in fear either. If they hadn't rioted, id be on their side right now. I'm saying that their reaction only hurt themselves. How can you disagree with that when it's literally in front of your face? There is a reason it was so bad in Baltimore last weekend. That reason is all on them. What I am REALLY tired of, is people assuming that because I say that the innocent cops didn't deserve the treatment they got, that must mean that I sympathise with them and that's it. When in reality, unlike a majority of the small minded comments I'm seeing, I'm just able to see both freaking sides. I'm ALLOWED to feel badly for innocent cops getting the raw deal over a few bad ones and I'm ALLOWED to still feel bad for the people who deal with abuse daily from cops. I can understand and want something to change (cameras on cops would help), while recognising that HURTING OTHERS IS WRONG AND NEVER EXCUSABLE. Just because I don't blindly take one side, it doesn't mean I don't see what's going on.

  5. I actually do take meds for anxiety and depression and your comment was an asshole move. So fuck you. Any sort of mental illness is not a fucking joke and comments like that are the reason there's such a stigma surrounding it. Instead of sitting on reddit preaching shit (while doing nothing), why don't you work on that.

  6. Your comments assuming that I'm dumb are unintelligent, rude, presumptuous. I don't comment on reddit often, I don't know how to quote texts, and I'm on my phone so without going back constantly and reading what you wrote, I respond from memory. You sound like a real dick, though. I'm glad you think you're so open minded.

I won't be responding anymore because I'm not interested in having a discussion with someone who just puts people down to make their arguments.
