Barely acknowledge my team other than my direct report. Bad?

As in, you do not know the repercussions of reduced visibility, so it makes sense to make sure you are visible.... so as to manage any downside risk.

Admittedly, I didn't manage the situation. And then when I finally worked with my manager and career coach on how to manage the situation, I realized that the team had no intention to facilitate the face time I needed. They could have easily assigned me more visible work or invite to meetings where the senior partner was present. Nope. They told me to just travel to NYC more often and hope that I "bump into" the senior partner as he bolted between meetings.

Realized that I didn't have much future at the firm, so I left.
