The Beauty of EA Sports

I don't see how providing an incredibly popular and entertaining game is fucking over its consumer base. You're not required to buy fifa points OR coins. Just play the game, grind, trade or whatever. No one is forcing you to buy anything. Hell, no one is forcing you to even play FUT.

It's not EAs problem that they provide the only decent soccer game in the market. They pay for licensing, they pay for development, they pay for advertising etc. there are millions of dollars of costs involved to develop a product like FIFA. Now they want to protect that investment and maximize their revenues. Fuck them right? That's what companies are supposed to do.

Companies have been using psychology to sell products since the beginning of business. Every single item in a supermarket is placed in its position on the shelf for a reason. If They put a high margin product at the end of the aisle it isn't deceitful, it's maximizing consumer buying habits. Creating special edition product endorsed by some celebrity isn't underhanded, it's a way to get buyers to buy something they perceive as special. Putting one of those low to no profit items like a rotisserie chicken near the entrance in order to sell higher margin profit items like frozen mashed potatoes is just business. There's no morality there.

Say what you want about good or evil but coin buying in this game is against the EULA and its cheating. It's literally has an effect on every aspect of the game. I've sold millions of coins in the past but I know it's against the EULA and I'm enabling people to cheat. That's just on a personal level. People are looking for shortcuts plain and simple.

So coin sellers are enabling people to violate the EULA. It's hard to argue that they're not. There's a lot of debate whether this practice actually violates copyright laws. Pretty easy to argue that coinsellers are selling glitched coins created by bots.
Whether that falls under the MDY blizzard case or not is also debated. If coinsellers are violating copyright laws then it's hard to argue that EA isn't a victim.

I'm completely comfortable with EA doing what they need to protect their investment. I'm also ok with them using techniques to sell product. It's what they're supposed to do. Consumers make buying decisions. We all have choices. Ea isn't forcing you to do anything.
