Bernie Sanders Welcomes the Hatred of Billionaires

The natural technological progression would have stalled in the dark ages without capitalism.

Technological progression is not inevitable nor natural. The countries who first got certain technologies found the entire world uniformly unadvanced and powerless to stop them. They colonized and very literally enslaved a good majority of the world, to the point non-europeans were not considered players of any significance. The remainder of the world did not develop democracy and capitalist economic policies, they adopted them in an effort to catch up once they were freed.

And here capitalism showed its value. Today, the once-poor economies of the world who adopt free markets are growing exponentially. Economies that have grown from 400-700 USD per capita in the last 2000 years suddenly grew from 700 to 5500 per capita in the span of 70 years. Besides that, availability of essential home goods to everyone, eradicating diseases, illiteracy, etc. Good trade relations and end of wars. There is so much good.

As for your point on technology: There is simply OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE to say that the tremendous technological progress produced every day in companies in capitalist economies would NOT be there without this system. The demonstration of this is how nearly all of the breakthroughs are produced by the market and by the concentration of advanced technologies in the hands of capitalist nations vs the relative backwardness elsewhere.
