Biden to propose 25% billionaire tax

This one is easy, actually, though something of a cop out: If I somehow earned that much yearly, after 5 years, having solved all my and my family’s needs, I’d invest the remainder from those 5 years and have it managed by professionals to provide a runway to live off from for the rest of our days, with enough to pay for college for my kid (and theirs) and for him to live comfortably-ish as a backstop, but not on autopilot. He’d either stretch what I gave him or invest it properly (or straight-up blow it), but it wouldn’t be enough to be considered “rich”. My kid needs to carve his own path and coddling him does nobody any service, most of all, him.

After those 5 years, I’d simply follow a comparatively extremely small form of the Bill Gates philanthropy model, and I would expect my child, as a condition of inheritance, would need to be a significant part on the ground evaluating non-profits and charities, really getting to know their plight, and how we could really impact the world if we gave to them.

I may have thought out similar things in the past, hence the easy explanation. Being middle-aged tends to make you think more seriously about what future’s left and what to do about it.
