A comment was deleted before i had a chance to go a little further in depth. I never felt he was evil. He was just a drunk and often times had to be the center of attention. One of those types of people who make sure everybody in the bar is aware of him. He wasn’t hitting on me. He just had to make sure I knew it made him feel uncomfortable that I wasn’t my usual self. And implying that I had come back to work too soon even if it meant I couldn’t afford my rent. It was just a misguided attempt to lighten the mood that made me feel stupid and like a silly emotional little girl. Nobody expects their parent to die of a heart attack with no prior condition at 43 years old. I’m not bitter about it, just wanted to share the experience I always think about every time I get told to smile (which is a lot!) I don’t think he’s a bad person, but that man should definitely take it easy on the liquor
