Browns are expecting QB Johnny Manziel to be ready for training camp.

You're conveniently ignoring a few other points.

You didn't address one single thing I said, but okay, I'll address yours.

Do you seriously believe there wouldn't be a LOT of people that notice he wasn't on social media or spotted out somewhere causing them to start digging?

What are you trying to say? If Manziel isn't on twitter for 10 days the media is going to start a search party? I believe you think Manziel is much bigger than he actually is. Maybe in Cleveland, but he isn't in the rest of the country. We don't give a shit. He could have definitely secretly done it during the playoffs. Nobody cared what he was doing then, not even most Browns fans.

why take the risk of some headline coming out about Manziel trying to hide his problems? The spin on it would be ridiculous.

Like I said, there are facilities people check into where nothing gets out. Even if some reporter broke the story, all he would have to say is: "It was a private matter. I wanted to handle it privately, which is my right under HIPPA. I didn't want it to be a distraction to myself or the Browns organization. This is behind me and I am ready to move on to next season. That is all I have to say in the matter."

You're acting like the day after the Super Bowl was some dry media day, kind of a lot was going on still.

Do you know what publicists do? Their entire job is to figure out the exact right time to release information. The decision to release the information - and when - was made in advance. It's a smart day to release it if they wanted the information out there. People are still talking about football, but the Super Bowl is over and now they are ready for a new story. Bang! Manziel goes to rehab. That story has staying power. Releasing the information amidst the Super Bowl or DeflateGate would have been back page news to everything else gong on. It wouldn't have staying power because it would have barely made headlines in the first place. Thus, they chose a time when it would be and remain a news story. It's smart on their part for waiting (assuming his camp wanted it to be a story). If his camp didn't want it to be a story, they should fire his publicist.
