Brutally honest job titles - Album on Imgur

I currently do the art-side of B2B marketing, employed by the company itself. A lot of my job is "do this, do that" task stuff. Brochures for sales guys, trade show graphics etc. I've always loved anything that involves creativity. I'm skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign, Premiere & After Effects (albeit, not Hollywood level skilled), as well as HTML, CSS & SOME Javascript. I just love the entire process of developing a campaign from an idea that spirals into this print ad, video ad, billboard, social media movement.

I always brainstorm from a copywriting angle as well, however I rarely even speak up when it comes to that side of things. Working in an office comes with the politics of people afraid you are stepping on their toes, people not willing to take you seriously because you don't hold a 4-7 year marketing degree, and an overall view that I'm just the guy who "makes things pretty". No room to move up, everyone else is smarter and more knowledgeable thanks to a degree and a newsletter subscription that utilizes the terms "ROI, NPI and verticals" consistently.

Imagine having a new employee with a sales background describe how they want their advertisement down to "and use faces, faces have been shown to connect with the reader due to blah blah blah".

Honestly, I just feel like saying "look, if you were that creative and knowledgeable about these things, you'd pick up a copy of Photoshop and learn to do it your damn self. /rant done.

I suppose that having the ability to brainstorm a consumer-targeted campaign, and working on bringing it to fruition while not being surrounded by people infatuated with their educational backgrounds sounds like a damn dream right now. The beer sounds nice as well :)
