Busy professionals, how do you do it?

I like to believe that you can still effectively manage your time and priorities without distilling your life down to a choiceless rote repetition without "unproductive" activities.

Not that I follow it myself, but I understand the concept behind what OP is doing and really, I wouldn't so much mind having the discipline to follow even a bit of it.

It is more of making conscious, deliberate decisions about what you want to enjoy and carving out the time for those. The thing about wearing the same clothes daily -- essentially having a uniform -- versus having a diverse wardrobe to choose from: would you get more enjoyment out of taking 10 minutes to coordinate your clothes or could you find something better to do with those 10 minutes? If you can't and don't want to replace that fashion time with anything else because it's important to you (maybe dressing well is important to setting up a foundation for your day, who knows?), then by all means, use that time for that. But if it's a stressor for you, then maybe you can toss out the idea of being that fashion forward and plug something else in those 10 minutes.

Like /u/Nyrin said, it's pretty much putting what's important to you first. Your time management might be a bit more rigid but if it's meaningful, then it won't feel robotic.
