What's to say the few humans remaining are not evil and will rebuild society even worse and cause an even worse future?

You don't know, therefore it's better to just let it be and see that we are in-fact making progress on all available fronts towards a better society and future. poverty and world hunger is going extinct, we are on the rise of enviromentally friendly electricity with a rapidly expanding wind solar and water production, etc etc.

Things are getting better. Yes many things are still shit but overall things are getting better, if you reset, you might end up with even worse people in power.

I hope i have in any way altered your view to that we might not need a reset and it might cause more harm than good.
