CMV: Some hobbies are objectively better than other hobbies

Okay, I think I am keeping up with what you're saying. You believe the most valuable hobbies are the ones that can directly produce a result or some kind of improvement in life (such as new skills or weight loss).

The problem is, the value of hobbies really is subjective. For example, sometimes my depression is so severe that painting something or going to the gym are not options for me. In that case, Animal Crossing it is. Video games help me calm down when I'm too overwhelmed to use my motor skills for painting, or if I'm too physically exhausted from mental health problems to go to the gym. There are times I really have to slow down so I can recover.

I learned the hard way, but every damn second of the day doesn't have to be "useful" in order to be fulfilling.
