CMV: White people can experience racism alongside every other race

I agree with you, 100%

Yes, it is not necessarily to the extent of other skin colours, but even small things can still hurt a person.

I haven't experienced any myself, but my sister has.

This is an 17 year old girl, who is too scared to apply for the Head Girl position, even though our school is very fond of her (ngl she would most likely get it- but im probably biased).

Do you wanna know why she was scared? Because the other people were saying they didn't want a blonde, blue eyed, and white head girl again. Completely ignoring her credentials and leadership skills. Just like that.

She decided not the apply, as she didn't want a hellride during her last few years of secondary school before uni (and she applied for, and received, a different role).

But the thing is, we couldn't talk to the school about it, could we? We'd be blamed for overreacting, and targeting this group of girls who happen to be of darker skin. And claiming this as racism? God no, I would never do that; let alone my sister.

As a family, we decided to just stay quiet about it, but damn, would not like that to happen again- it puts you into quite a sticky situation.
