Technology doesn't matter. Knowledge matters. We aren't ignoring the laws of nature, we built societies and economies that are not fluid enough to counteract greed. If Al Gore had won in 2000, solar panels would already be prevalent, green tech would already be flourishing, but it's not like being 16 years behind has changed all that much.

You forget that knowledge of climate change has given people purpose. Their entire lives have been redirected in some cases to slow the warming of the earth. There are people who might have been photographers or veterinarians who decided they want to discover green solutions because it's more important to them.

Give humanity some credit.
