Dark Souls 3 critique (Joseph Anderson)

I think you're honestly doing gamers a disservice here.

You realize that you argument is based on your own opinion right? That this game design choice appealed to you doesnt mean it was a good choice. There are people who play (and love) "I want to be that guy/the Boshy".

Now if you start to approach the game from a objective view point, you have to ask what is this game supposed to be? Is it supposed to be a die-hard-try-hard game experience that most likely will fall into a niche and only appeals to a small number of players, or do you want to make a game that appeals to a large audience.

FROM tried to combine those worlds and i think succeeded. They made a game that is hard (harder and less hand holding then in pretty much any game) yet has a huge appeal to all sorts of players. And the amount of sold games shows that.

I think DS3 is a masterpiece. Ofc it has it flaws. But FROM evolved with every game.

What players are also never discuss is the ability to choose how to play. It's a game, not a task.
