And while he is trying to improve just a bit, even Stain told Todoroki to stop relying on brute force and start actually thinking and making strategies(the funny part is that Todoroki was like "oh yeah then let's see how you take THIS" and got immediately stabbed). Aizawa also pointed it out as his weakness during End of Terms Test, the only reason he passed was thanks to Momo's plan, otherwise he would be just hanging there until the end. Even during his fight with Deku in Sports Festival he was basically just throwing random ice at him. But once Deku get's stronger(and he will), able to take down his attacks or escape them without getting hurt, Todoroki is just done. Several characters told him that, but I still see zero effort put improving this weakness from his side. That's why he needs to lose badly against someone he already won, as an alarm
