Why does Zelda get a pass on everything that is negative in other games?

Then why are you comparing them? They aren't meant to fit the same niche in the slightest nor are they trying to be similar in their execution so I never understand where this comparison comes from - perhaps it's because both have elitist fans who believe that every other game is shit in comparison and have to compare absolutely everything to them.

Souls combat is unbelievably overrated and people seem to overlook the awful aspects of it such as the poorly balanced weapons, awful hit boxes, exploitable invincible frames, issues with poise, clipping, stun lock bullshit etc. etc. yet it's hailed as the most exciting and responsive combat system in modern gaming when it's very formulaic and simple in its execution. Most of the issues are hidden in PvE because the enemies are woefully poor at countering the unbelievably complicated and in depth 'roll/stab/roll/roll/stab'.

I like it, but it isn't the be all and end all people make it out to be and certainly isn't that good that it ruins other games combat. They aren't comparable in the slightest so it's pretty much like saying the Souls series character development makes it a bad game because TW3 does it better or CoD's combat is poor because it isn't the same as Souls - they aren't meant to be.
