DOJ says Harvard hurts Asian-Americans with race-based admissions

You are missing my point. How am I personally underprivileged compared to a white person? I understand many black individuals like my family members have had to work exponentially harder to succeed compared to a white person. However if someone like myself who was born into a situation no differently than my white suburban counterparts, that is not underprivileged. There is a difference between respect level and actual opportunity. Respect level is something obviously most black individuals in this country have to work harder for compared to white people regardless of socioeconomic circumstance due to racism, the way the media negatively portrays us, and our history in this country. That is different than pure opportunity. A child of a black ceo or black professor who lives in a wealthy neighborhood is not void of opportunity compared to a child of a white ceo or white professor.

A poor child from an inner city will have a tougher time getting from point A to point B than a white suburban kid. A black suburban kid, though? That is a real large stretch. I am talking specifically about black individuals coming from upper echelon households, not run of the mill middle class.
