Escaped Inmate David Sweat Shot Near Canadian Border

That's a good point about the firearms and brawling, but didn't Trayvon initiate the physical confrontation (after Zimmerman followed him or some such). Many of these situations though, I'm telling ya better fighter = no one dead. I'm not some bad ass either, but if you have enforcement job, people need to be like basically MMA style ready. I actually think if cops got a reputation for being extremely hard to beat in a fist fight people will just avoid getting into one more than they already do. I don't think cops should touch their guns though until a weapon is even confirmed. We have far far more incidents of those incidents than people getting a cop's gun (a combat failure itself). A lot of the police assaults are like ambushes anyway, not really brawling. The other thing too is, cops are getting such a bad political reputation, they might be the ones getting disarmed while on duty. That would really suck for legitimate cops that have to keep their guns locked up in the cruiser cause people like Wilson etc. used it against some random, unarmed, wounded, probably winded from running fat guy at a distance. They could also be giving rubber bullet weapons outside of riots too. Very few criminals are wearing body armor of any kind. Cops have just tactical advantage after tactical advantage (backup, armor, more legal authority, heavy metal flashlights, tasers etc. One on one vs. unarmed people they just don't really need a gun. I personally would of bashed MB in the face (flashlight would of been in my hand) IMMEDIATELY if he randomly started slapping or grabbing at me. Instead we have some sad story (for both of them) about MB's hulk ability and Wilson saying it was like he's a kid even though Wilson had several weapons ad MB had some dropped cigarillos. If you look at it from a minimum bad ass level needed for their job, some of them don't measure up. It's actually similar to incompetent criminal videos, it's just sad and cringeworthy. Situations with more immediate dangers I'm far less likely to criticize police.
