Espn next layoffs will slash $80 million in expenses

First, economics and capitalism are not the same thing. Capitalism is a type of economics. Economics itself has little to do with anything we've discussed. And what we're discussing is actually not capitalism at all. Capitalism implies a free market. There is nothing free about the market for cable services. That is not capitalism. Adapting to modern technology would be more compatible with capitalism.

And I'm not necessarily saying the services should be cheaper. Don't make a straw man. I'm saying that people are no longer willing to pay for a bunch of channels and other services they don't need. And I'm not sure what you're getting at with your constant, "this is America" references.

Do you steal them because they are overpriced? Practically every name brand charges for its name. Do you then steal all of them?

If Nike shoes were the only shoes that existed and my only option of obtaining them was to also buy tons of other products from them, yea I'd likely steal them if the option to do so was so easy.

But stealing is wrong and you aren’t going to justify it to me because they are being greedy or not keeping up with the latest trends.

I never once said stealing was right. Stop with the straw mans. I'm simply explaining to you why it's happening at such a scale.

latest trends.

We're not talking about fashion here. We're talking about technology radically changing consumption and corporations refusing to adapt. You pretend as if I'm making a moral argument or something. I'm not. I'm saying that cable providers have two options: adapt or deal with piracy.

So because a bunch of gamers aren’t happy with a company it is okay?

I think you've missed my point. Or you're trying to turn it into something it's not.

By the way, the gamers are doing it the right way. They are boycotting a product not stealing it.

You think if it was possible to steal battlefront consumers wouldn't? Don't kid yourself.

Why don’t you rally people to let ESPN know that millions would be willing to pay at XX price

I would if ESPN hired me to do it. I'm under no obligation to protect ESPN just because you think people should stop pirating content. Why would I dedicate a single moment of my time advocating to protect someone else's profits? That makes no sense.

The fallacy of sports fans is thinking if I steal it the company will know it’s because they are over pricing it and will come down.

You're a fool if you don't think the companies will eventually adapt. Who is going to be left around to buy their product? Old people that don't know how to use the internet are becoming a rare species, friend. And there are even fewer people like you that are delusional enough to buy whatever they're putting out without question.
