I am a bald guy with average looks and a small dick and I think our problems are somewhat relateable. I am also in my early 30s and probably can relate to the actual question.

Before online dating through apps, your dating pool was limited, even in larger cities. You actually had to go out to meet people. Preferences were always the same but people had to go out to meet potential partners. I think that women were much more forgiving back then if they met someone who is not really their preference when it comes to looks but gave it a shoot anyway because that guy may have been great in other ways.

Nowadays "everyone" has the illusion of that perfect partner and lots of people, especially women are not willing to settle for anything less.
