If you think New York state's financial situation is going to make any sense you haven't lived here for any amount of time. We live in a state where the city and 50% of Long Island will vote democrat, and vast portion of upstate New York will vote republican.

We just voted down a referendum that would allow for a constitutional convention, which means that a predominantly democratic state decided that a progressive look at what makes New York New York is not in the best interests of the people of the state. Which is shady. Either people didn't show up to vote, or there is shady shit happening in what, up to this point, has been a mostly ineffectual state legislature.

Cuomo is a legacy from an age long forgotten. The last thing Cuomo stamped his name on was rallying the state troopers to capture the fugitives from the Clinton prison. He's about as relevant to any New Yorker as Chuck Schumer. Which isn't saying much.
