I'm an older guy who very rarely gets attention from women and this happened to me once. I personally found it to be very confusing and more than anything. She really wasn't someone I'd ever be interested in, yet I found myself liking her nonetheless. Even my friends couldn't understand what I saw in her - and neither did I. Eventually I realized that as I was so starved for affection that I couldn't figure out whether I liked her because I liked her or if I liked her because she liked me. Once I realized that was the case I was able to move on.

I definitely spent a long time afterwards feeling as though the universe were playing a trick on me, though. A girl finally likes me and she's unintelligent, boring, and not terribly attractive? If that's the best I can attract then what am I like???
