Do you feel level design and the lack of a world map, airship in JRPG regressed over the years ?

As a Witcher fan, I was a bit disappointed with TW3 going open world. This meant less interesting exploration, tiny bland caves, tiny basic interiors, less actual choices to make in the story, side quests aren't as in depth anymore, puzzles were dumbed down to basic "find the switch" stuff, witcher senses were made mandatory to find certain things, it was impossible to know where to go without the mini map pointing the way, etc. None of these problems existed in TW2. Oh well. TW3 was still fun in its own way and the weather system is the main reason I still keep it installed lol

As for JRPGs, well everyone else already what I was thinking probably
