I’m not gonna disagree. But i will add that for whatever reason, people all over the world, and throughout history, have created Gods and myths that go along with them. There’s simply something natural to want to feel “connected”, that one’s life has a purpose/meaning, and that there’s a reason why good and bad things happen. People are uncomfortable with randomness, so they assign meaning. I think it goes beyond people simply being gullible, as OP and others have suggested.

All and all, I think it’s fascinating that people, who are totally isolated as in the past, have created myths and gods and built temples and created rituals around them. Carl Jung has written extensively about the importance of myth to humans. I don’t fully understand it, but it’s neat.

I don’t hate on people who are religious, and I am an Agnostic. Just don’t be a dick about your religion it is my policy.
