Yes. Police can use lethal force if they feel their lives are in jeopardy. That even means if you don't comply to their verbal commands, you become a risk to them and they can use lethal force. All they have to say is that they felt their lives were at risk and for a judge/jury to believe them, if the case even gets that far.
She was not armed but she had a weapon in the house. It is very easy, very legal and very common to have handguns and rifles in most homes in Texas. I grew up and still live in Texas. Don't ask why I still live here since I own no firearms.
No threats that we know of. Her neighbor thought it was weird that her lights were on at 2:30am and the front door was open but the screen door in front of the front door was closed.
LOL. No suicide vest. Just in her house, in a bedroom. Police officer assumed the worst that she was a criminal and saw a gun though she was not holding it. He tells her to put her hands and she moves and bang. She's dead. And she's the homeowner.
