I fought the City of King, NC to have christian symbols and prayer removed from a public Veterans Memorial. There's a protest formed by the Stokes County Militia on Facebook against me Feb. 7th! I'm Steven Hewett, AMA

The King City Council by virtue of their elected positions and City Manager, Mr. Cater (since retired) have been forcing their religious beliefs upon the city.

Virtually every interview by the newspapers and TV, council members asserted their Christian beliefs and implied they had the right to force those on the citizens by virtue of their elected positions.

Freedom of religion and from (another’s) religion is what I went to defend this country for, not to have someone tell me what I should believe or not believe. Nor to have Rev. Broyhill of Calvary Baptist Church in King hold a rally and have speakers tell the citizens that they should encourage people to leave town! Is that what our country has come to, that you encourage people to leave town that happen to have a different belief?
