The four leaks affecting the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea were caused by underwater explosions corresponding to hundreds of kilogrammes of explosives, a Danish-Swedish said Friday.

Based on Danish government sources, if everything in the pipes ends up in the sky (a portion will be disolved in the water where certain microorganisms feed on it), it would be equal to almost one-third of the Danish emission in a full year. That's a lot of emission in a Danish, Swedish and gas pipe leak context, but not really compared to the global emission. It would basically be similar to all Danes (of which there are almost 6 million) decided to change their per capita emission in one year from 4.5 ton per capita (the number from 2020) to 6 ton per capita. In comparison, the per capita emission from the 84 million Germans is 7.7 ton, and for the 332 million Americans is 14.2 ton.
