A girl raped by her own father will have no choice but to give birth. A woman at risk of dying in childbirth will not be able to seek a termination. This will be the impact of new legislation to be debated in the Polish Parliament this week which would usher in an almost complete ban on abortion.

I can't see what you might have said earlier before your edit, but I agree wholeheartedly with the intention I am perceiving from your statement. No one should have power over a woman's body. If anything, the role of men at this point should be to empower women as equals, with their own separate self-strengths and qualities. Of course we can all live together with our own views and perspectives on this subject (That's fine and will thankfully never change no matter what stupid laws are passed.)

In my opinion, if an adult can make a self-conscious decision that does not physically harm life outside of her own body, it is not the business of any other person to stop or prevent her actions (I am not against protester rights, to be clear. This is when law enforcement being able to provide safety is really important.) Problem is, some "children" are already mentally and even physically adults at a young age. While they cannot legally consent to sex yet, law does not ultimately prevent them from being attacked or making a poor decision that could be life-changing or fatal. This narrative also doesn't take into account disabled women who are not legally competent to care for their own health. It is at this point that parental or guardian response and society as a whole become so important. Again, all this is IMO, and I am open to criticism.
