Google to stop selling ads based on your browsing history and drop cookies support for Chrome citing privacy concerns

Only as a way to discussion (and not argument, please) I'm under the impression it's a lot rougher than we think. I do freelance illustration and that means I use a lot of reference, which these days means doing A LOT of google image searches. They're always trying to sell me something related to what I'm painting.

Client wanted an anthropomorphic chameleon woman wearing normal earth business attire, so I looked up some women's business attire. They're trying to sell me mini skirts and body forming leotards.

I log in to Slack to talk to a client, suddenly reddit is bombaring me with ads for those similar websites (like LastPass).

I bought a wedding ring for my wife, and by the time I was married they were still trying to sell me those weird silicone active-wear rings.

They're following me for sure, but for someone like me they just can't target me.
