I got 2 teeth taken out years ago, and did not know it would effect my jawline. Now my jawline isn't as good as it used to be...have I lost my jaw forever?

With any surgery there are risks. For dental implants the risks are infection or damage to surrounding teeth, blood vessels or nerves. You have to weigh the risks with the benefits.

If you were getting implants in order to have functioning teeth (ie. instead of dentures) Or if it were one of your front teeth and the social pressure of a visible missing tooth is unbearable, then the risk would balance with the potential reward.

If you are really unhappy with your looks and believe implants will resolve that then the reward will outweigh the risk and expense (if not covered by insurance).

My personal belief is that its better to learn to love yourself than take unnecessary risks of elective surgery for aesthetic reasons. But that's just me and many people have a different opinion on that.
