I had a bad date tonight, and it wasn't my fault

Oh god yeah. I had a date in a busy city after I finished work ~35 minutes away. Had to rush and made myself presentable. Took my outfit and kit to work to get ready there!! Got to the restaurant and he wasn’t around. No signal in the restaurant either. Not even 4G, as it was an old building.

Sat there having bought a second Amaretto with the people around me giving pitying looks. 45 minutes I waited. I got up to go outside for signal and at that moment a young man is rushing up the stairs. It was him, in old wrinkly clothes and DRIPPING with sweat. He brought a bag with him, and told me to sit down and he’d just get changed. He came back and apologised saying he had forgotten that he agreed to help his friend move furniture. Cool.....

So date was.... meh. He was very well spoken but thought he was smarter than me and flaunted it by asking out there intellectual questions about them reading books n’ other smurt perple stuff. So we decide to go on a walk after dinner, and he says it is only right we split the bill. Yeah sure, fair ‘nuff mate feminism equality whoop whoop..... but he bought two bottles of wine, one to take with him on the walk. Dude. So we sit and chat by the river and talk. Until he makes me an offer.

“Hey, you seem really interesting, and you’ve been flirting quite a lot.” (No shit, it’s a date). “Look, there are loads of hotels in (city). We could find somewhere....” (noticing my furrowed brow) “oh, it doesn’t have to mean anything. It can just be for fun. If you’re worried about money, we don’t have to go anywhere fancy, we can just get something cheap.”

My dude. I just ended the date and we went our seperate ways. He messaged me for a while after that not seeing that he had insulted me.
