Like Hermonie was supposed to be black, when it’s clear from texts and even the cover of her books Hermonie is white. (Lines in the book support Hermonie being white just from the way she describes her even if she never outright says her skin color, I don’t remember specific examples right now though).

Not defending the way she specifically said it but I do want to put this into context: In the Harry Potter musical they casted a black girl as Hermoine. Some of the fanbase complained about this. Then Rowling said something along the lines of 'Who said she was white?'. Which is a pretty stupid remark because she is clearly white in the books, but I do agree with the general point I think she was trying to make: Whether Hermoine would've been black or not would not really make any difference in the books.

And again, if that was her point I think she could've gone about it better, but I think overall the message was well-meant.
