Hey r/christianity! I was a Jehovah's Witness for the first 12 years of my life, now atheist. Since then, I've only looked into anti-theistic arguments which I don't think is healthy. Lets try to think more about why we believe what we do and make an attempt to learn more about others.

My writing abilities can't do it justice in this medium I think. The short version is that I was already inclined to think through other research that the gospels were written reasonably close to the events they record by people who weren't inclined to purposeful deception. Given that frame of mind I think it was the Trilemma that got me first and hardest. I ended up reading all of Lewis at first just to try and refute his arguments, in the end he won me over though I'm sure Lewis would give the credit to the Holy Spirit,he was quite humble. I now think of him almost like family. This is a very short version of course. My advice is to read everybody, especially people who love honesty and are opposed to your position. If God is all goodness and truth as I understand him to be then his truth will always win out for those who honestly seek Him.
